Attaining the nursing license is a proof of something you are worth as an individual aiming to be in the health care profession. Others may utter that it is just a piece of proof or just merely a card that says you are a Registered Nurse but then for someone who had invested so much time and effort in his/ her student life having so many sleepless nights, unending requirements, unbelievable rotations with consecutive nocturnal shifts, unbearable cases, terror clinical instructors and unimaginable experiences that would signify a lot of his/ her worth as a person. It is not just the ending words Registered Nurse but the indescribable feeling of gratitude and happiness after all the hustle and bustles encountered.

At last, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced May 2014 (NLE) Nursing Board Exam Results. It takes 23 working days for the results to be finally released. A total of 11,225 passers out of 29,188 examinees given by the Board in cities of Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Cabanatuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last May 2014.

Ma. Margaret Benosa Sanchez of University of Santo Tomas (UST) topped the list of examinees with 86.00 %, the PRC stated.

Pursuant to Section 16, of Republic Act No. 9173, “all successful candidates in the examination shall be required to take an oath of professional before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice”.

Registration for new nurses shall require the following

  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
  • 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag)
  • 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession and
  • To pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2012-2015.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
